Project Description
In 2020, the infrastructure of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Campotec, a leading company in the food industry located in Torres Vedras, underwent a waterproofing and reinforced concrete protection intervention.
The project demanded a high level of performance and durability, as the exposed concrete structure is in permanent contact with industrial wastewater featuring an aggressive pH resulting from food processing. To meet the chemical and mechanical demands of the surrounding environment, full protection of the structure against water infiltration and chemical attacks was provided, ensuring the concrete's longevity and preventing premature degradation.
Used Products
- Penetron Admix SB: Crystalline waterproofing admixture added to the concrete on-site, drastically reducing structural permeability and providing resistance to aggressive pH industrial effluents.
- Penebar SW 55: High-performance swellable waterstop tape for the waterproof sealing of construction joints subjected to hydrostatic pressure.
- Penebar Primer: Adhesion primer designed to optimize the application and bonding of the Penebar SW 55 tape onto the concrete substrate.
