Project Description
The construction and upgrade project for the facilities of Grupo EROFIO—a leading company in mold engineering and manufacturing based in Batalha—included the construction of a reinforced concrete pond.
As a structure designed for permanent water retention and storage, the primary challenge was ensuring absolute watertightness while preventing cracking, leaks, and continuous concrete degradation over time. To achieve this, Penetron's integral crystallization technology was selected, providing a durable, high-efficiency solution seamlessly integrated into the architectural concept of the surrounding space.
Used Products
- Penetron Admix SB: Integral crystalline waterproofing admixture packaged in soluble bags and added directly into the ready-mix truck on-site. It reacts chemically with moisture and cement hydration by-products to form insoluble crystals within the concrete's capillary network, granting self-healing capabilities for micro-cracks and permanent resistance to hydrostatic pressure.
