Project Description
In 2020, the construction and waterproofing of the fire protection water tank in Arganil took place. As a critical structure intended for storing water for fire protection and fighting, ensuring absolute and long-lasting watertightness of the concrete structure was essential to protect it against continuous hydrostatic pressure and degradation over time.
To ensure maximum performance and durability, the chosen solution was based on deep-penetration crystallization technology. The concrete was waterproofed during batching, allowing the permanent sealing of pores, capillaries, and micro-cracks.
Used Products
- Penetron Admix SB: Crystalline waterproofing admixture added to the concrete during batching (supplied in soluble bags). Ensures permanent protection, resistance to high hydrostatic pressure, and self-healing capabilities for micro-cracks throughout the lifespan of the structure.
- Penebar SW 55: Hydro-expansive waterstop strip for sealing cold joints and construction joints. Expands upon contact with water, creating a continuous and fully watertight barrier.
